cleanview.ai is a Chrome extension that lets you hide distracting elements on webpages you visit, so you can focus on the content that matters to you.

cleanview.ai processes everything locally, on your own device. It does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data, browsing history, or page content, to us or to anyone else. There is no analytics SDK, no remote server, and no third-party service integrated into the extension.

What data is stored, and where

The only data cleanview.ai stores is a local record of which page elements you've chosen to hide, keyed by the website's origin (e.g. https://example.com).

This is stored using Chrome's built-in chrome.storage.local API, which keeps it on your device only, inside your own Chrome profile. It never leaves your browser, and cleanview.ai's developer never has access to it. You can delete it at any time via "Clear Saved Layout" in the extension popup, "Restore All," or by removing the extension.

Permissions and why they're needed

PermissionWhy cleanview.ai needs it
storage To remember, locally, which elements you've hidden on a given site, so they stay hidden on your next visit.
Content script on all sites cleanview.ai's core feature is letting you hide elements on any webpage, not a fixed list of supported sites. The content script only runs the hide/highlight/restore logic; it does not read, log, or transmit page content anywhere.

No accounts, no tracking

cleanview.ai has no sign-up, no user accounts, and sets no advertising or analytics cookies. Nothing about your browsing is ever sent off your device by this extension.

Children's privacy

cleanview.ai is a general-purpose productivity tool and is not directed at children. Since no data is collected in the first place, none is collected from anyone, of any age.
